(Seguin) — Seguin football players David Barron and Corey Dailey were named to the Padilla Poll Coaches 2024 Class 5A Division I All-State team on Thursday.

Barron, a senior, was named an All-State first team offensive lineman. The junior Dailey was named second team all-state at quarterback.

Barron anchored the left side of the Matador offensive line at tackle this past fall. He was selected to the All-District 13-5A first team for 2024. Barron currently has college football offers from Texas Lutheran, Sul Ross State, McMurry, Centenary, Wayland Baptist, St. Andrews, Mary Hardin–Baylor and Hardin-Simmons.

Dailey was voted the 2024 District 13-5A Offensive MVP. He threw for 2529 yards with 35 touchdowns and just seven interceptions this past season. Last week the Seguin quarterback announced on social media that he has received an offer from the Pitt Panthers, his first Power 4 college football offer. On Thursday Dailey received an offer from Lamar University, his sixth offer overall.
