Seguin Craft Beer & Wine Fest
The Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce invites the community to the second annual Seguin Craft Beer & Wine Fest from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Seguin Coliseum, 950 South Austin Street. Sample a variety of craft beers and wines from regional makers, enjoy food, and celebrate the holiday weekend with fellow enthusiasts. The indoor fundraiser offers something for both longtime craft beverage fans and those looking to discover new favorites. Fireworks Fiesta on Friday in Max Starcke Park
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with the City of Seguin’s biggest fireworks show ever. The Fireworks Fiesta begins at 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, over Max Starcke Park. This year’s display will feature more fireworks, a longer 27-minute show, and a new pyrotechnics company. Biggest Small Town Fourth of July Parade Returns to Downtown Seguin
The Biggest Small Town Fourth of July Parade in Texas steps off at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 4, in downtown Seguin. Thousands are expected to line Austin Street as colorful floats, marching groups and community organizations celebrate America’s 250th birthday. This year’s parade will be led by Grand Marshals retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Tom Walters and retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Brad Webb. Before the parade, everyone is invited to the annual Flag Raising Ceremony at 9 a.m. in Central Park. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early, bring water, and dress for the summer heat.
Freedom Fiesta on Saturday, July 4
The community is invited to celebrate Independence Day at Freedom Fiesta on Saturday, July 4, in Central Park in downtown Seguin. Activities begin at 6 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m. The event will feature music from DJ D’Trayne and Clint Taft and the Buck Wild Band. There will also be food vendors, a beer garden, inflatables, family activities, and the annual Kiddie Parade. Admission is free. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of patriotic fun as Seguin celebrates the Fourth of July and America’s 250th birthday. Freedom Fiesta is hosted by KWED Radio and is open to the public. Kiddie Parade Set for July 4 in Seguin
Children and families are invited to take part in a patriotic Kiddie Parade at 6 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, at the gazebo on Donegan Street in downtown Seguin. Participants can march or ride decorated bicycles, scooters, strollers, and other patriotic “floats” behind Uncle Sam, portrayed by Guadalupe County Sheriff Joshua Ray, as the parade makes its way around Central Park. Prizes will be awarded for the top entries in riding, walking, stroller, and motorized categories. Participation is free and open to the public. Music, Dancing Robots, Community Line Dance Set for Freedom Fiesta
Freedom Fiesta offers entertainment for the entire family this Independence Day. Join the celebration from 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 4, in Central Park in downtown Seguin. Enjoy live performances by hometown favorites Clint Taft and the Buck Wild Band and DJ D-Trayne, plus plenty of food, a beer garden, children’s activities, and one of the area’s best community celebrations. Kids Summer Art Classes
The Seguin Art League is offering Kids Summer Art Classes featuring “Hippos, Crocodiles and Cobras… Oh My! The Art of Ancient Egypt.” Instructor Jamie Aven will teach students about the art and symbols of ancient Egypt while they learn to draw and paint exotic animals and plants. Classes for ages 5 to 9 are offered July 7-8 or July 9-10 from 10 a.m. to noon. Classes for ages 10 and older are offered July 7-8 or July 9-10 from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants may choose one two-day session for $60 or attend all four days for $120. All supplies are included. The Shark Is Broken Opens at Palace Theatre
Take a behind-the-scenes trip into one of Hollywood’s most legendary films when En Vivo! Theatrical presents The Shark Is Broken July 9 through July 12 at the historic Palace Theatre in downtown Seguin. The internationally acclaimed comedy tells the true story of the making of Jaws, as actors Robert Shaw, Roy Scheider and Richard Dreyfuss find themselves stranded aboard the Orca while a malfunctioning mechanical shark delays filming. Directed by Paul Padilla, the production stars Shawn Hardee, Tyler Askins and Jason Chew. Due to adult language, the play is recommended for mature audiences. Clay Sculpture Class
The Seguin Art League is inviting kids and adults to create their favorite animal during its Clay Sculpture Animals class with instructor Roger Betschler. Students ages 10 and older will learn sculpture techniques using form and texture while creating an animal of their choice. The class will be held July 7 through July 10 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. The fee is $80, and all supplies are included. Beginning Cyanotype Class
Learn the art of making photographic sun prints during the Seguin Art League’s Beginning Cyanotype class on Wednesday, July 15, from 1 to 4 p.m. Instructor Cat Bollinger will teach participants how to prepare, layer and finish cyanotype prints using sunlight. The class is open to ages 16 and older, is limited to six participants, and all supplies are provided. Students are encouraged to wear old clothes or an apron and non-slip shoes. The Seguin Conservation Society invites golfers to take part in its annual Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 14, at the newly renovated Max Starcke Golf Course. The Guadalupe County Children’s Advocacy Center invites the community to Casino BASH 2026 on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the McQueeney Lions Club Hall. The event will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., with casino games running from 6 to 9 p.m. Guests will enjoy gaming tables, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, a live and silent auction, bucket drawings and prizes. Organizers encourage attendees to wear their brightest attire. General admission tickets go on sale July 22 for $50, and sponsorship opportunities are available now. Summer Reading Experience Underway at Seguin Public Library
The Seguin Public Library is inviting readers of all ages to participate in its 2026 Summer Reading Experience, “Unearth a Story.” The free program features books, activities, special events, and opportunities to win dino-mite prizes throughout the summer. Children, teens, and adults are all encouraged to join. Registration is available in person at the library or online at Seguin Public Library Summer Reading Experience. Seguin ISD Back-to-School Family Bash
Seguin ISD invites families to its 5th Annual Back-to-School Family Bash on Friday, August 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Seguin High School Cafeteria, 1315 E. Cedar Street. The districtwide event is open to students and families from Pre-K through 12th grade and will feature free games, a hot dog supper, resource booths, prizes, and activities for the entire family. Fishing Workshops
The Seguin Parks and Recreation Department is hosting two Fishing Workshops on Tuesday, August 4 and Tuesday, August 11 at the SISD-Irma Lewis Outdoor Learning Center, located at 1865 East U.S. Highway 90. Workshop one on August 4 will focus on learning to fish, while workshop two on August 11 will cover advanced fishing skills. Sessions are available for grades 3 and 4 from 4 to 5:15 p.m., and grades 5 and 6 from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. The cost is $5 per participant for each workshop. Free Mulch for Seguin Residents
Free wood chip mulch is available to residents within the Seguin city limits through the City of Seguin Public Works Department while supplies last. Mulch may be picked up from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at 634 Fred Byrd Drive. Residents must bring shovels, gloves and containers if self-loading. The Community Council of South Central Texas is accepting applications for utility bill assistance through the Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program (CEAP). Household Hazardous Waste Collection Service Underway in Seguin
Seguin residents now have a safe and convenient way to dispose of household hazardous waste in the city of Seguin. The city has launched an at-your-door collection service. The service is available to residents who receive City garbage collection, with scheduled pickups taking place every Monday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. at participating homes in Seguin. The program allows residents to properly dispose of items such as automotive fluids, paints, chemicals, household cleaners, and small electronics while helping protect public health and the environment. Refuge III Clothing Ministry Free Giveaway
REFUGE III Clothing Ministry continues giving away free clothing for adults, children, and babies, along with accessories, some furniture, dishes, and a limited amount of non-perishable food items. The City of Seguin will be hosting the reopened Business Improvement Grant (BIG) Program following the approval of additional funding. The grant offers up to 75 percent reimbursement, with a maximum of $10,000, for qualifying business improvements such as façade upgrades, signage, and equipment additions.
