(San Marcos) — Marion High School placed seven student-athletes on the Academic All-State track teams which were announced by the Texas High School Coaches Association on Monday.
Honored for her work on the field and in the classroom was Marion’s Maggie Rudisaile, who was named Academic First Team All-State. Rudisaile will compete in the pole vault at the state meet in Austin next week.
Joining Rudisaile with Academic All-State honors were her classmates Kylie Balderas, Kacee McLendon, Preslee Wiggins, Kelli Cielencki and Ellery Twitero. All five were all named to the girls second team. Marion’s Chase Hallmark was named an honorable mention on the boys side.
Navarro High School was represented by Xavier Cropper who was named to the boys second team. Navarro’s Gabe Rangel was selected as an Academic All-State Honorable Mention.
Maya Gordon was named an Academic All-State Honorable Mention for the Seguin High School girls track team.
