(Seguin) – The naming of the new Seguin High School Athletic Director and Head Football Coach might just be around the corner.
Trustees on Tuesday, June 2 are expected to discuss and possibly hire a new athletic director following the decision by Craig Dailey to step down from the position and transition into a different role within the district for the 2026-27 school year.
Dailey, a graduate of Seguin High School and Texas Lutheran University, has led Seguin athletics since 2021. During his tenure, district leaders say the athletic program has made significant strides both competitively and in developing student-athletes.
Following Dailey’s decision in April, Superintendent Dr. Jack Lee stated that the district’s goal moving forward was to find a leader who values the Seguin community, builds strong relationships, inspires success, and remains committed to students.
Also, on the agenda that evening is the possible hiring of a new special education director. The district will also consider the approval of the 2026-2027 compensation plan.
The special meeting of the Seguin ISD Board of Trustees is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 2 in the Seguin ISD Board Room located in the Seguin ISD Administration Building.
