(Yoakum) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs take on Columbus today in a UIL area round doubleheader — and we’ll have it on KWED.
Marion advanced by eliminating Crystal City 4-3 in a one-game bi-district playoff last week. Cambry Dojahn hit the game-winning home run in the top of the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie. Lailah Hernandez had four hits in the game, and Zayah Della Ragione struck out eight and went the distance in the circle to earn the win.
Columbus swept past Luling in the first round, shutting out the Lady Eagles 13-0 and 16-0.
Games one and two of the series take place today in Yoakum, with first pitch in game one at 5 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will be played Friday evening in Marion.

(San Antonio) — The Marion Bulldog baseball team also plays a doubleheader today in a first-round matchup.
The Bulldogs, who went a perfect 10-0 in District 27-3A, will take on Crystal City in games one and two of the series at the Frank Tejeda Sports Complex in San Antonio. First pitch in today’s game one is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will also be held at Tejeda on Friday evening.
(Seguin) — The Seguin Matadors open their bi-district series Thursday.
UPDATE: Due to potential rain, tomorrow’s Seguin/South San playoff game has been moved from 7 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Seguin wrapped up a 14-and-0 district championship last Friday with a 5-to-2 win at home over San Antonio Jefferson, and will take on South San in the first round of the postseason. Game one is tomorrow at Matador Legends Ballpark at 5 p.m. — and we’ll have the game on KWED. Game two shifts to South San High School on Friday at 7 p.m. Game three, if necessary, goes Saturday at 10 a.m. at the SAISD Sports Complex.
(Leander) — The Seguin Lady Matadors, coming off a bi-district sweep of San Antonio Southwest, open the area round against Leander on Thursday.
Game one is Thursday in Leander at 6 p.m. Game two comes home to Legends Ballpark on Friday — and we’ll have that game on KWED — with first pitch at 6 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will be at Del Valle High School on Saturday at 11 a.m.
(Pleasanton) — The District 28-4A champion Navarro Panther baseball team opens bi-district play against Pleasanton in a Class 4A best-of-three series Thursday.
Game one is Thursday in Pleasanton at 7 p.m. Game two is Friday at the new Navarro High School at 7 p.m. Game three, if necessary, will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Joe Gulley Park in Kenedy.
