(Seguin) — The Seguin ISD is inviting families to come together tonight and celebrate in front of the big screen over at Matador Stadium.
Emily Allen, Seguin ISD executive director of communications, says Friday night’s Matador Family Bash and Movie is meant to be an inclusive, end-of-year celebration not only for students and their families but anyone in the community.
“We’re really excited to host Seguin and our families out for Zootopia 2 at the Matador Family Bash. It’s going to be at Matador Stadium. it’s for everyone of all ages. So, if you come out to the stadium at 5:30, we’ll have free games, store prizes, concessions — we’ll have some concessions that are free, some that are available for sale, but it is open to everyone. You’ll just sign in at the front and let us know that you’re there and that’ll help qualify you for a door prize. We recommend that people bring pillows and blankets so you can sit out on the field and enjoy Zootopia. So, the bash itself will start at 5:30 and the movie starts at 7 p.m.,” said Allen.
Allen says as the district nears the end of the school year, the Matador Bash is an effort for groups to collaborate across the district.
“This is really a group effort by several of the programs here in Seguin ISD. This is our ACE afterschool program working with us. We’ll have different programs from the high school that are pitching in. So, you’ll see lots of students doing games and other fun things. Our superintendent student advisory team is the group officially putting this on. So, I think this is just going to be a great way for us to reach out to our community, have some fun, enjoy a fairly recent movie with Zootopia 2, and just have a good time,” said Allen.
While the event is free, district officials again remind folks that concessions will be available for sale.
