SEGUIN, Texas — TLU tallied 20 runs on 21 hits and the pitchers spun 12 shutout innings as the No. 3 Bulldogs (18-2) blanked St. Olaf 14-0 in five innings and 6-0 on Wednesday on day one of the TLU Invite.

With the shutouts, the Bulldogs have shutout the Oles 22 consecutive innings dating back to their last matchup in 2015. The last time the Oles scored a run on TLU came in a 2-1 victory over St. Olaf in 1990 in Seguin.

Also with the two wins, head coach Wade Wilson earned his 900th win in his career across his high school and collegiate coaching career. For his career, Wilson is 900-170-6 (.839) across his tenure at Texas Lutheran in addition to his time at Brenham and Sinton High Schools.
The wins bring TLU’s run-rule tally to six on the season and shutout count to ten for 2026. The Bulldogs outhit the Oles, 21-9, while keeping opposing batters from tallying even one extra base hit on the night.

After relieving Katelyn Howard (Waller/Hempstead) in the second inning, Jordyn Stuessy (Garden Ridge/Davenport) retired the first five batters she faced en route to four innings of shutout ball in the circle to earn her third win of the season. Stuessy tossed two strikeouts, allowed just two hits, no runs and one walk on Wednesday.

At the plate, Riley Davila (Angleton/Angleton) went 3-for-3 with four RBI and a run scored while Serena Gonzalez (Corpus Christi/Foy H. Moody) was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Davila, Gonzalez, and Ashley McMahon (Las Vegas, NV/Durango) (2-for-3, RBI, R) all turned in multi-hit performances.

Eight of the Bulldogs nine starters drove in a run in game one. The Bulldogs scored a pair of runs in the first and second innings before breaking the game open with an eight run third inning. The Bulldogs added another couple of runs in the fourth.

Katelyn Howard returned to the circle for game two, scattering seven hits across her seventh complete game shutout of the season. Howard collected her 12th win of the season with one strikeout and two walks allowed.

TLU carried the momentum from game one into game two as an RBI double from Davila scored Caelee Clark (Montgomery/Lake Creek) in the first before Davila scored on an infield single from Serena Gonzalez. With the four RBI, Gonzalez passed DePauw’s Emma Minx (147) for fourth place in SCAC history in career RBI. and tied former Austin College ‘Roo, Stefanie Faith (151) for third all-time.

TLU took advantage of the St. Olaf defense to score three runs in the third on just one hit. The three runs came via an RBI hit by pitch from Harleigh Russell (Fort Worth/Boswell), a sacrifice fly from Natalie Pacheco (Lytle/Lytle) and an RBI fielder’s choice from Chesley Swisher (Cypress/Bridgeland).

In the sixth inning, Caelee Clark tallied her third hit of the night before stealing second and scoring on an RBI groundout from Davila for the final run of the game. With the sixth inning stolen base, Clark tied Georgia’s Nicole Barber (257, 2001-04) NCAA record for career stolen bases.

Clark and Davila both finished 3-for-4 while Cady Bowyer (Fulshear/Jordan) added two hits.
