Noah King's first team selection leads Matador all-district boys basketball accolades

(Seguin) — Seguin sophomore Noah King was named a first-team selection to lead Matador all-district honors in District 27-5A for the 2025-26 boys basketball season.

King was Seguin’s leading scorer with a 10.1 points-per-game average. The sophomore was also lethal from three-point range, knocking down 56 three-pointers at a 47 percent clip.

Making the all-district second team for the Matadors was Jay Menchaca. The junior was Seguin’s leading rebounder at 6.8 rebounds per game and also averaged 8.4 points per contest.

Seniors Tavien Miles and Abron Acuna, along with junior Mikey Hernandez, earned all-district honorable mention for the Matadors. Miles averaged 8.9 points per game and led Seguin in assists at 3.6 per game. Acuna’s 3.3 assists per game ranked second on the team. Hernandez led the Matadors with 74 three-pointers and 52 steals on the season.

Seguin was well represented on the Academic All-District team as well. Those earning academic recognition were Menchaca, Hernandez, Evan Flores, Nate Walter, Ty Luckey, David Maindo and team manager Xzavier Vela.

The Matadors finished sixth in District 27-5A with a 7-9 district record and 15-15 overall mark. Seguin was led by sixth-year head coach Guy Nowlin.
