Navarro girls pull in all-district basketball honors following playoff season

(Seguin) — Six Navarro Lady Panthers earned All-District 28-4A girls basketball honors as selected by the district coaches.

Two Lady Panthers were named to the first team – senior Camden Shields, Navarro’s leading scorer, and freshman Elle Hepp, the team’s leading rebounder. Shields averaged 12.9 points per game this past season, while Hepp brought down 6.7 boards per contest.

Seniors Jillian Baker and Trinity Loftice landed on the all-district second team. Baker was third on the Lady Panthers in scoring with 5.8 points per game. She led the team in assists at 2.3 per game. Loftice was Navarro’s fourth-leading scorer at 5.6 points a game. Loftice was Navarro’s fourth-leading scorer at 5.6 points a game.

Junior Audrina Pacheco and senior Emi Harris were selected as all-district honorable mentions. Harris averaged 4.9 rebounds per game, second on the team, while Pacheco averaged 3.8 points per game, fifth on the team in scoring.

Navarro won 11 games overall and finished fourth in District 28-4A under first-year head coach Nick Israel. The Lady Panthers advanced to the postseason before falling 42-38 to Carrizo Springs in the bi-district round of the UIL Class 4A Division II playoffs.
