Area high school basketball teams will be in action Tuesday as the Christmas break begins across campuses.
(San Antonio) — The Seguin Matadors will look to rebound after falling in their District 27-5A opener on Tuesday.
The Matadors fell 76-64 at home to Sam Houston in their first district game. Seguin will be on the road for their second district contest against San Antonio Fox Tech, with tipoff at 5:30 Friday afternoon.
(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors will try to even their district record when they host Fox Tech on Friday.
The Lady Mats fell to 1-2 in district play with a 63-38 loss at Sam Houston on Tuesday. Seguin will host Fox Tech in a Friday matinee game with tipoff set for 3 p.m. at the Seguin High School Student Activity Center.
(Geronimo) — The Navarro Panther boys fell to Class 4A 10th-ranked Wimberley on Tuesday in the Hill Country. They’ll be back home on Friday.
The Panthers host Falls City with tipoff at 4:30 Friday afternoon at Navarro High School.
(Waco) — The Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers dropped a 59-30 decision at Southwest Legacy on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers will take a road trip to Waco on Friday.
Navarro will play at Waco University High School with tipoff set for 6:15 p.m.
(Marion) — The Marion Bulldogs are 12-3 on the season after a 66-20 rout of Stockdale on the road Tuesday. The Bulldogs will be home on Friday.
Marion hosts San Antonio Memorial with tipoff set for 6:15 p.m. at Marion High School.
(Nixon) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs are competing in the Nixon-Smiley girls basketball tournament over the weekend.
Marion defeated Luling on the road, 50-44, on Tuesday to even their record at 9-9 on the season. The Lady Bulldogs will compete in the tournament Friday and Saturday.
(Seguin) — The Lifegate Christian boys and girls teams are off for Christmas break. The Lady Falcons are 8-0 on the season. The Falcon boys are 3-5. Both teams will return to action in January.
College hoops:
(Austin) — The Texas Lutheran women’s team will be in Austin on Friday.
The Bulldogs will face Concordia for their final game of 2025. TLU will meet Concordia in a rematch in Seguin on January 5th. Friday’s game tips off at 1 p.m. in Austin.
