(San Marcos) — The Texas High School Coaches Association announced its Academic All-State football teams on Monday, recognizing numerous Seguin Matadors, Marion Bulldogs, and Navarro Panthers for excellence both on the field and in the classroom. The Academic All-State teams honor athletes, trainers, and managers who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
Seguin High School placed two student-athletes on the Academic All-State Second Team: Ian Moreno and Justin Peterson. Earning Honorable Mention recognition were Ryan Lee, Marcus Troy, Elliot Weaver, and Corey Dailey.
Navarro High School’s Hudson Jenner earned Academic All-State Second Team honors, while Evan Rodriguez, Eli Melton, and Grayson Carlisle received Honorable Mention recognition.
Marion High School led the way with eight student-athletes recognized by the association. Travis Randle earned First Team Academic All-State honors, while Tanner Otis, Cayden Schultze, Kade Pape, and Giuseppe Castagnetto were named to the Second Team. Nathaniel Halter, Aaron Salinas, and Jaiden Riley received Honorable Mention recognition.
