(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors moved one step closer to a District 27-5A championship with a sweep of San Antonio Edison on Tuesday at Goldie Harris Gym.
Seguin took down Edison, winning by a final tally: 25-15, 25-19, 25-18. Senior setter Gisele Morales racked up 38 assists to lead the Lady Mats. Junior Elli Anderson had 15 kills and 11 digs. And freshman Kassidy Dailey topped the leaderboard in kills for Seguin with 16.
The Lady Mats improved to 13-0 in district. Seguin will travel to San Antonio Highlands on Friday. The Lady Matadors have already clinched a postseason berth. They can clinch a district title with a victory over Highlands.
(San Antonio) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs are 7-0 in District 27-3A after a road sweep at Great Hearts Monte Vista on Tuesday.
Marion won the match 25-14, 25-22, 25-16. The Lady Bulldogs, 26-8 overall on the season, clinched a spot in the playoffs with the victory. Marion has won 11 straight matches.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Great Hearts Northern Oaks on Friday.
(Geronimo) — And the Navarro Lady Panthers improved to 6-1 in District 28-4A by sweeping San Antonio Kennedy at Navarro High School on Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers won the match 25-14, 25-8, 25-15. Navarro clinched a playoff berth with the victory. The Lady Panthers are in second place in the district, one game behind La Vernia. The Lady Bears are ranked 8th in the latest Class 4A coaches’ state poll.
Navarro and La Vernia will meet on Friday in Geronimo during homecoming at Navarro High School.
The Bi-District playoffs for all three teams will take place October 30th through November 1st.
