SEGUIN, Texas — Texas Lutheran University’s Easton Allen (New Braunfels/Marion) and Isaac Orozco (Helotes/O’Connor) were named to the 2024-25 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court, representing outstanding achievement in the classroom by men’s college basketball teams and student-athletes, for the third straight season, the organization announced Thursday.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Over 2,400 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2024-25. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men’s basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Allen graduated this spring with a 4.0 GPA as a Communications major. Allen is now a three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honoree and a three-time member of the NABC Honors Court. Allen finished second on the Bulldogs in rebounds this season with 5.1 rebounds per game. Allen is currently serving as a graduate assistant for the Ole Miss Rebels men’s basketball team under head coach Chris Beard.
A senior from Helotes, Texas, Orozco owns a 3.80 GPA while pursuing his degree in Integrated Science. Orozco led the Bulldogs in assists (2.7) and finished second on the team in steals (1.4) in 2024-25. Orozco set a career-high of six steals against Austin College on Jan. 25. Orozco will return for a fifth season next year after medically redshirting the 2023-24 season.
