(Enid, OK) — Marion baseball player Huck Schoenvogel will compete at the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association High Plains Shootout.
Schoenvogel, an incoming senior at Marion High School, was recently selected to play for Team Texas at the baseball series to be held in Oklahoma next month. Team Texas is composed of the 44 juniors and sophomores from across the Lone Star State. The three-day competition will split Texas players from Class 2A through 6A of Regions 1-4 into two teams — red and blue — to compete against teams from Kansas and Oklahoma.
This past season as a junior, Schoenvogel earned the District 27-3A Co-MVP, taking home an MVP award for the second straight season for the Marion baseball program. Schoenvogel started the 2025 campaign by throwing a no-hitter on opening day against Natalia on February 17th. Offensively, Schoenvogel led Marion in batting, hits and runs. He was tied for the team lead in RBIs while leading the Bulldogs with a .536 average.
The High Plains Shootout baseball series takes place July 14-16 in Enid, Oklahoma.
