(Seguin) – This weekend is the time to get rid of all those unwanted items from around your home. The city of Seguin will be hosting its annual Spring Clean-Up Day on Saturday from 8 am to noon in the Seguin Coliseum parking lot.
Items that residents can bring include junk disposal items such as old furniture, mattresses, etc. Also on the list are scrap metal; appliances without freon (REMOVE DOORS on appliances) and automobile tires (maximum 10 and no longer than 19.5”).
Paper shredding will also be on site.
While most items will be collected, there are those things that will not be accepted.
Those things include hazardous waste (such as electronics, paint, chemicals, cleaners, poisons and other toxins); brush or limbs; appliances containing freon and construction debris such as fences, sheds, construction materials, or debris.
The free service is open to residents in Seguin city limits only. Residents must show an ID plus proof of residency such as a utility bill.
City crews will be on hand to unload items from vehicles, pick-up trucks and utility trailers.
