Egg hunt fun begins this weekend in Seguin

(Seguin) – The Easter Bunny is helping kids get a jumpstart in their egg hunting by partnering up with his TLU friend Lucky, the Bulldog. This Saturday marks the 3rd annual community wide EGGAPALOOZA to be held at Texas Lutheran University’s Bulldog Stadium. The event, dubbed the largest egg hunt in Seguin features 30,000 eggs and is hosted by Emanuel’s Lutheran Church. It’s also made possible thanks to dozens of groups and community sponsors. Gates to the stadium open at 8:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be 17 booths many of which include facepainting, coloring sheets and other fun activities for families to enjoy while they wait. A short welcome from Seguin Mayor Donna Dodgen and KWED’s Linda Duncan will kick things off at 9:15 a.m. It will be followed by the first egg drop at 9:30 a.m. for the youngest of children (2-3). The other various age groups will follow right after. The event is free and open to everyone, of all abilities from ages 2 to 12 years old.

Also inviting kids out on Sunday to their Easter Palooza are members of the McQueeney Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department (VFD). The palooza will include a brunch from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a mini market, bounce houses, fire trucks, hourly door prizes, Easter photos and then a community wide Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 2:30 p.m. The event will be held Sunday at the McQueeney VFW Post 9213 located at 275 Gallagher Road.
