(New York, NY) — Seguin High School seniors Daisha Shular and Ocean Moreno represented the San Antonio Swift Track Club at the Nike Indoor Nationals in New York City this past weekend.
Shular competed in the Girls 55 meter and 60 meter championships. She ran 7.15 in the 55 and a 7.68 in the 60. Shular was also a member of the Swift Track Club’s 4X200 team. The team finished 7th with a time of 1:40.16.
Last year as a junior, Shular finished 8th in the 100 meters at Class 5A UIL State Track & Field Meet. She placed 7th in the state last spring in the long jump. Shular earned a silver medal in the 100 meter dash at the state meet during her sophomore campaign.
Moreno competed in the Boys 200 meter championship and the Boys 4×400 meters. Moreno timed out at 22.91 in the 200 meter. His 4X400 team finished third at the Nationals with a time of 3:16.92.
Moreno along with Nik Henry, Elliot Weaver and Kayden Holz took home the bronze medal in the 4X100 at the 2024 state track meet. The team of Moreno, Henry, Weaver and Sammy Bode finished fifth at the state meet last year in the 4X200 meter relay.
The Seguin Track & Field team will host the Matador Relays this weekend at Seguin High School.
