Marion High School's Amanda Saldivar finishes 4th at state powerlifting meet

(Edinburg) — Marion High School powerlifter Amanda Saldivar finished fourth at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Championships on Thursday. Saldivar, a junior, lifted a total of 815 pounds in the squat, bench and deadlift in the 242+ pound weight class.

Navarro High School powerlifters Ayden Chapa, Sloan Wacaster, Kayley Thomas and Paola Hernandez will compete today at the women’s Class 4A state meet. Seguin High School women powerlifters Dyanna Priestly and Bryana Arce will compete in the Class 5A state championships on Saturday.

The Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting State Championships are taking place at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg.
