(Friendswood) — The Seguin Matadors went 3-2 at the Clear Creek ISD baseball tournament in Friendswood just southeast of Houston over the weekend.

The Mats split games with Clear Lake and Fulshear Jordan on Thursday. On Friday, Seguin split their games with Houston Westside and Clear Springs.

On Saturday, the Mats routed Clear Brook 10-1. Seguin scored four runs all with two outs in the fourth inning on Saturday. Elliot Weaver capped the inning with a two-out RBI double.

Seguin will play next at the San Marcos tournament starting on Thursday.

(Floresville) — The Navarro Panthers were dominant at the Floresville baseball tournament.

On Thursday, the Panthers shutout Gonzales and blew past host Floresville. On Friday, Navarro shutout Pflugerville Connally. On Saturday, the Panthers won a 1-0 nailbiter over San Antonio Jay. Ryan Davidson and Peyton Helford combined for the shutout on Saturday.

Navarro next plays at the Hallettsville tournament starting on Thursday.

(San Antonio) — And the Marion Bulldogs went 4-0 in the first two days of the Southwest ISD baseball tournament before falling in their final game on Saturday.

On Thursday, the Bulldogs shutout San Antonio Roosevelt and San Antonio Highlands. Marion followed that up with wins over McAllen Rowe and Southwest Legacy on Friday. The Bulldogs would come up short to Lubbock to wrap up the tournament.

Gage Hamilton and Kade Pape were top pitchers for Marion in the tournament. Hamilton and Pape each struck out nine in games on Thursday. Centerfielder Eli Parker was a star at the plate smacking three doubles on Friday.

Marion will next play in the Blanco tournament starting on Thursday.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors went 4-2 at the Seguin softball tournament.

Top tournament performers for the Lady Mats included Marissa Torrence and Cam Rios who each slugged homers on Friday. Torrence smashed a grand slam in a victory over San Antonio Reagan. Torrence won two games in the circle for Seguin tossing eight innings and striking out five. Kaelynn Ramirez went 14 innings in the tournament and struck out five as well.

Seguin will host San Antonio Lanier to open District 27-5A play at the new Matador Legends Ballpark on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m.

(Blanco) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs won three games at the Blanco tournament.

Lailah Hernandez went 3-for-3 at the plate with a pair of doubles in a 16-3 win for Marion over Lytle on Thursday. Cambry Dojahn drove in two with a triple in the first as the Lady Bulldogs led start to finish in an 8-1 win over Comfort to wrap up the tournament on Saturday.

Marion will play at Poteet on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Poteet High School.

(Weimar) — And the Navarro Lady Panthers finished play at the Weimar tournament falling to East Bernard on Saturday.

On Thursday, Shelbi Stevens blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the first for the Lady Panthers in their game against Hallettsville. Stevens drove in another run with a single in the third inning.

Navarro will host Alamo Heights on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. at Navarro High School.
