(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors officially opened the new Matador Legends Ballpark with a 9-0 shutout victory over Lockhart on Tuesday night.
In the 1st inning, Lady Matador leadoff hitter Brylee Weiding hit a solo home run in the very first at-bat for a Seguin player at the new ballpark. In the circle, Lady Mat hurler Kaelynn Ramirez had a no-hitter going until the top of the 5th. Ramirez finished with a complete game one-hitter.
The Lady Matadors will move from their new softball field to the Fields at Huber Ranch for the Seguin Softball Tournament which begins on Thursday.
The Seguin baseball team is scheduled to play their first game at the new Matador Legends Ballpark this coming Monday against San Antonio Johnson. First pitch is scheduled for 5 O’clock.
