High school girls basketball: Runnin' Lady Panthers take down Devine Arabians

Navarro's Tegan Harborth (#1) led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 19 points against Devine on November 26, 2024.

High school girls basketball roundup:

(Geronimio) — The Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers took down the Devine Arabians, 43-25 at Navarro High School on Tuesday.

Seniors Tegan Harborth and Evie Scott led the way on the scoring sheet for Navarro. Harborth scored nine points in the first quarter and finished with 19. Scott dropped in eight points.

The Lady Panthers are now 8-3 on the young season. Navarro head basketball coach Darrell Harborth says his team wants to keep improving before they get to their tough District 26-4A schedule in January.

“I told them right now with only having about two or three practices with the whole group and playing in seven or eight games, we’ve been really solid. Of course, we have a lot of seniors who have been through it for a while. I just told them we need to keep improving. There are things to work on, but the reason we’re doing all that is for the Wimberleys and Fredericksburgs and everybody else in our district. It’s not a cake walk, so we gotta be ready.”

The Lady Panthers are off for the Thanksgiving holiday. They will face Medina Valley next Tuesday and then host the Navarro High School girls basketball tournament next Thursday, December 5th through Saturday, December 7th.

(Seguin) — The Seguin Lady Matadors fell to Victoria West, 58-37 in Seguin on Tuesday.

The Lady Matadors are 5-10 on the season. They will open District 27-5A play next Tuesday when they host San Antonio Burbank for Teacher Appreciation Night at Seguin High School.
