Mr. Oscar Eugene Brooks, Sr., passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024. He was born on October 2, 1938 in La Vernia Texas to James and Verna Mae Brooks, Sr.
Oscar was preceded in death by his parents; James and Verna Mae Brooks, Sr.; son Alvist Zimbalist (Lobo) Brooks; brothers James Brooks, Jr., Carl Brooks, Sr.; sisters Dorothy Louise Williams, Anabel Campbell; great grandson Dante Sutton.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Brooks; children, Samuel Brooks (Jackie), ,Oscar Brooks, Jr., Terry Brooks, Annie Brooks-Bush (Tommy), Shelia Cleveland (Keith), Sarah Washington (Steven); twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Brooks (Inez), Benny Brooks, Sr., Kenneth Brooks, Sr. (Judy); sisters in law, Maxine Baines, Lillie Marie Brooks, Annie Mae Taylor, Linda Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation Friday, November 22, 2024, 5:00pm-7:00pm at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia. Service: Saturday, November 23, 2024, 10:00am at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia
