(Seguin) – In the spirit of community, the city of Seguin is inviting you to sit down at its table this weekend in observance of Thanksgiving.
In partnership with local and area churches, officials say “The Table – A Community Thanksgiving Meal” is an opportunity to not only enjoy delicious food, but also bring people together to celebrate community and to give thanks. The complimentary Thanksgiving meal will be served this Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Seguin Coliseum.
Organizers say approximately 1,000 plates will be served on a first come, first served basis. All are welcome. Plus, no registration is required.
“This event is something we hope the community can enjoy together and take pride in,” said Seguin Mayor Donna Dodgen. “We look forward to serving and enjoying the company of a wide range of residents – from the youngest to those who are lifelong residents of Seguin. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your neighbors and help build unity in our community.”
Organizers say the free holiday meal is made possible by the generosity of local businesses, organizations and citizens in the community, along with the numerous volunteers who are graciously donating their time to prepare and serve food. In addition to the meal, there will also be activities for kids.
