The high school basketball season is underway and there was lots of action Friday and over the weekend.
(Seguin) — The Seguin Matador boys fell in their first home game of the season, dropping a 49-30 decision to Victoria East on Friday at Goldie Harris Gym. The Matadors will host San Antonio MacArthur on Tuesday. Tip off is set for 6:30 p.m. at Goldie Harris.
(Floresville) — The Seguin Lady Matador basketball team won their final two games at the Floresville tournament, finishing with a 33-26 victory over San Antonio Highlands on Saturday.
On Friday, Seguin defeated San Antonio Stevens, 46-37. The Lady Mats will host Davenport on Tuesday at the Seguin High School Student Activity Center. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m.
(Marion) — The Marion boys earned their first victory of the season on Friday, blasting San Antonio Memorial 88-42 at Marion High School.
The Bulldogs will be back home Tuesday night to take on Carrizo Springs. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
(Geronimo) — On Saturday, the Navarro Runnin’ Lady Panthers took down the Marion Lady Bulldogs 46-37 in Geronimo.
The Lady Panthers are 3-0 on the season, which will be the 26th and final season for long time Navarro girls basketball coach Darrell Harborth. Navarro will host New Braunfels on Tuesday night. Tip off takes place at 6:30 at Navarro High School.
The Marion Lady Bulldogs will next play on Friday when they host Davenport.
(San Antonio) — And the Navarro Panther boys will open their season at San Antonio Young Men’s Leadership Academy. It will be the first game for Navarro’s new boys coach, Jarrett Tyler. The game will tip off Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.
(Seguin) — And the Lifegate Christian basketball teams will host a girls/boys doubleheader against Legacy Christian Academy on Tuesday. The girls will play first at 5 O’clock.
