(Floresville) — The Marion Bulldogs play in the UIL Bi-District playoffs tonight on KWED.

The Bulldogs, who finished the regular season tied for second in District 13-3A, will face District 14-3A champion Jourdanton in a rematch of last year’s bi-district playoff won by the Indians. Tonight’s game takes place in Floresville.

Marion head coach Ryne Miller says his team is prepared for tonight’s rematch.

“Our guys are ready. We’re coming on a short week on a Thursday playoff game. We’re excited,” Miller said. ” We’ve got some history with Jourdanton. We know a lot of those coaches over there. I know a lot of our guys know their players too. It’s gonna be a tough, physical game. We’re gonna have to play really good football, but our guys are up for it. It’s the playoffs and anything can happen. We’re juiced up for this game for sure.”

Tonight’s bi-district playoff game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Eschenburg Field in Floresville. We’ll have all the play by play for you on KWED.

Our Bulldog football pregame starts at 6:30 p.m tonight. Where we’ll visit more with coach Miller inside the Bulldog report. And then the playoffs kickoff on KWED with Marion and Jourdanton squaring off at 7 O’clock.

And make sure you’re tuned in at halftime because during our Marion High School Student Spotlight, KWED’s Linda Duncan will visit with Marion football players Kade Pape and Garrett Mann. The Marion junior quarterback and senior offensive lineman will talk with Linda on the halftime show during tonight’s Marion bi-district playoff on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(San Antonio) — The Seguin Matadors will head to the southwest side of San Antonio for the start of their postseason on Friday.

The Matadors will take on the Southwest Dragons at Dragon Stadium in the Class 5A Bi-District round. We will have Friday’s playoff game on KWED as well.

Seguin completed the regular season as the fourth seed in a tough District 13-5A. The Pieper Warriors, ranked sixth in the state in Class 5A Division I, won the district. Smithson Valley, who played in the state title game last year, finished second. And the New Braunfels Unicorns, who were a 6A school last year, wound up in third.

The Southwest Dragons were the champions of District 14-5A. Southwest went 10-0 during the regular season.

Seguin and Southwest will kickoff at 7 p.m. Friday night. Our high school football Friday night coverage on KWED starts at 6:20 p.m. on AM 1580 and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(Jourdanton) — And the Navarro Panthers play in the Class 4A Bi-District round on Friday night.

Navarro will take on District 14-4A champion Carrizo Springs. The playoff takes place at Jourdanton High School.

We’ll talk with Navarro head coach Rod Blount about the game tomorrow night during the Navarro Panther report inside our high school football coverage on KWED. The Panthers and Carrizo Springs Wildcats kick off at 7:30 p.m. Friday night in Jourdanton.
