SEGUIN, Texas — Texas Lutheran senior kicker Joaquin Rodriguez (San Antonio/Smithson Valley) has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for Week 10, as announced by the publication Tuesday morning.
Rodriguez tallied 14 points, making three field goals from 35, 43, and 32 yards in addition to five extra points on Saturday. This is Rodriguez’s second D3football.com Team of the Week honor this season and third of his career and adds to his SCAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors from this weekend. The three field goal performance is the second time this season and third time in his career he has made at least three field goals in a single-game. Rodriguez also handled kickoff duties for the Bulldogs which saw him have two touchbacks, kicking for a total of 468 yards on nine kickoffs.
For the season, Rodriguez has made nine of his 12 field goal attempts and 41 out of 42 extra point attempts racking up 68 total points, only trailing quarterback Caden Bosanko in points. With his next made field goal, Rodriguez will move into a tie for fifth all-time in TLU’s NCAA Division-III history for field goals made, currently sitting at 24 in his career.
This is the 26th season that D3football.com has selected the Team of the Week, which honors the top player nationally at each position from the previous week.

Texas Lutheran returns to Seguin for their Senior Day and regular season finale against Southwestern at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 16.
