(Marion) — The Marion Bulldogs wrap their regular season with Senior Night tonight at Veterans Stadium.

The Bulldogs will host District 13-3A foe Florence. Marion will play in the bi-district round of the UIL playoffs next week. Their opponent will be determined after the conclusion of games tonight.

Tonight is the final regular season home game for Marion seniors, Bulldog head coach Ryne Miller says his senior class has led by example this season.

“They’re good football players, but I think they’re better kids,” Miller said of his 17 seniors. “I still look at them as kids even though a bunch of these guys are 17-18 years olds getting ready to graduate. But the leadership they established in the off-season through our captains and leadership council has been phenomenal. These guys have really stepped up and handled adversity.”

Tonight’s game kicks off at 7 p.m. at Veterans Stadium on the Marion High School campus. We’ll have all the action for you on KWED.

Our Bulldog football pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. tonight. We’ll talk more with Marion coach Ryne Miller inside the Bulldog report on the pregame. And then we’ll have kickoff between Marion and Florence at 7 O’clock on AM 1580 and streaming online worldwide at SeguinToday.com.

(San Antonio) — The Seguin Matadors will finish their regular season tomorrow in San Antonio.

The Matadors will take on MacArthur at Heroes Stadium. Seguin is locked into the fourth seed in District 13-5A. They will play at San Antonio Southwest in the bi-district playoffs next Friday.

Seguin head coach Craig Dailey says MacArthur will give his team similar looks to what Southwest will give them in the playoffs next week.

“It’s actually a good warmup game because defensively, they’re very similar to what we’re gonna see with Southwest,” Dailey said. “And offensively, they’re a three-back offense which is what Southwest is. So, it’s gonna give our defense an opportunity to line up against a three-back set.

“I told our starters the approach is you get in there, you do your job. Your goal is to get your backup in the game. That’s what our goal is, to get every kid in the game. Get them some game reps because those kids have been working hard all season too.”

The Seguin Matadors and MacArthur Brahmas kickoff at 2 O’clock tomorrow. Our Matador football pregame starts at 1:30 Saturday afternoon from Heroes Stadium on AM 1580 KWED and streaming at SeguinToday.com.

(Geronimo) — The Navarro Panthers have a bye in the final week of the regular season. Navarro will play in the Class 4A bi-district round next week. Their opponent will be determined after tonight’s games in Districts 13 and 14-4A.
