(Pleasanton) — The Navarro Lady Panthers took the Class 4A Division 2 Area volleyball championship on Thursday night.
Navarro swept past the Devine Arabians, 25-10, 25-21, 25-20 at Pleasanton High School to move on to the Region 4 semifinals. The Lady Panthers have not lost a set in two playoff matches. Navarro swept Lago Vista on Monday in the bi-district round.
The Lady Panthers will next play Sweeny. The Lady Bulldogs dispatched Kingsville King in four sets on Thursday to win their area round match up. Navarro and Sweeny will meet next week in the regional semifinals.
(Pleasanton) — The Marion Lady Bulldogs saw their season end Thursday night in the Class 3A Division 1 Area round.
The 3rd-ranked Goliad Tigerettes swept the Lady Bulldogs, 25-7, 25-4, 25-14 in their playoff match in Pleasanton. Marion finished the season tied for second place in District 27-3A.
(New Braunfels) — The Seguin Lady Matadors play tonight in the Class 5A Division 1 Area round.
Seguin will face Smithson Valley at New Braunfels Canyon High School. The Lady Matadors swept San Antonio John Jay in the the bi-district playoffs at San Antonio Veterans Memorial High School on Tuesday. The Lady Rangers swept past the Hays Lady Hawks in their bi-district match Tuesday night in San Marcos.
The Lady Mats were the co-champions of District 27-5A. Smithson Valley finished as the fourth place team in 26-5A. The winner of tonight’s area playoff will meet the winner of the area round match between Flour Bluff and McAllen in the Region 4 semis next week. Tonight’s match will get underway at 6 O’clock this evening at Canyon High School.
