(Seguin) – This week is the second and final week of early voting for the Nov. 5 Presidential and General Election. Early voting continues at 9 polling locations throughout Guadalupe County – that’s three more than usual.
This year, the elections office says it is making it easier than ever to cast your ballot. Not only did they expand last week’s hours but they have added a couple of new early voting locations. And despite attempts at making things convenient, Guadalupe County Elections Administrator Lisa Hayes says she expects things to be quite busy this week.
“I’m optimistic that the voters are interested in voting and so we are looking forward to seeing them at the polls, but I think there is going to be –because there is a lot of interest – and despite our best efforts, there is going to be some lines. I don’t think we can avoid it and so I’m just hoping that everyone is patient, poll workers and voters alike so that we can navigate this as gracefully as possible,” said Hayes.
Hayes says patience is going to be key whether you arrive at the polls early or if you set out to cast your ballot on election day. Early voting will be held today through Friday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The new early voting locations include the Marion ISD Tondre Room, the Seguin ISD Admin Building and Selma City Hall. The remainder polling sites include New Berlin Community Center, the Elections Office Annex in Schertz, the Cibolo Fire Station #2, the Central Texas Technology Center, Redemptive Grace Ministries and the Guadalupe County Elections Office in Seguin.
Curbside voting will also be available at each early-voting polling location. Those unable to get out of their vehicles are encouraged to call the number available on the sign outside.
Those wishing to print their sample ballot are encouraged to visit the elections office website at co.guadalupe.tx.us/elections. Those with other questions about the election process are asked to call the Elections Office at (830) 303-6363.
