St. James Fall Festival returns to Seguin Events Complex

Petting zoo, live music, auctions plus raffles among events

(Seguin) – The fall season officially arrives this weekend in Seguin. Helping to usher in the change in season will be the St. James Catholic Church Fall Festival. The Fall Festival will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the Seguin Events Complex.

Kelly Roybal, one of the coordinators for this year’s event, says the festival over the years has become a fan favorite for the entire city and will again include plenty of family fun.

“We are still going to have our petting zoo and train rides. We still have our bounce houses and this year, the school is participating as far each of the grades is going to have their own game that they are going to run with their own set of prizes,” said Roybal.

Topping this year’s lunch menu will be pork steaks with all the trimmings. The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost, which includes a drink, is $13.

Roybal says while they are eating, folks will also get the chance to check out several fabulous auction prizes that will be up for bid. The live auction gets underway at noon while the silent auction will be open for bids from noon to 2 p.m.

“We have donations from D&D Ranch Wear, beautiful dresses, jackets – some that come with a handbag. We have Consuelo bags. We have a Coach bag. We have a full day stay in Round Rock. We have jewelry. We have hats. We have beautiful baskets. We have big shrimp boil dinners that are going to be up for auction as well,” said Roybal.

In addition to walking away with an auction prize, individuals will also get a chance to try their luck at taking home a prize in this year’s raffle.

Roybal says this year’s raffle will include 40 different gift cards.

“The raffle, you don’t have to be there to win. We will have tickets available that day. They are $2 a piece and we have gift cards that range from $100 to $500. Everywhere from Walmart to Granzin’s to HEB so a little bit of everything for everyone,” said Roybal.

Keeping folks entertained throughout the grounds will be live music in the Coliseum gazebo. Kicking things off will be Gacho Sol. The band will perform at 10:30 a.m. Following Gacho Sol will be Clint Taft and the Buck Wild Band at 2 p.m.

Those wishing to purchase raffle tickets in advance may do so at the church office. The church office is located at 510 S. Camp St.
