The first of October brings changes for the city of Seguin

(Seguin) — This start of October brings with it some major changes in the city of Seguin.

First, the Starcke Park Golf Course officially closed on Tuesday, Oct. 1 and it will stay that way for the next year. The course is being given a total makeover and will essentially be a brand-new golf course once it’s done. The course is expected to reopen in October of 2025.

The first day of the month also marked some changes for garbage customers in the city of Seguin.

Mayor Donna Dodgen says the bulk trash pickup schedule has also officially changed.

“Residents will be limited to two bulky items that we pick up on trash days once a quarter. Visit www.seguintexas.gov/yourcityservices for quarterly schedules and for information about other changes to trash service go online to seguintexas.gov,” said Dodgen.

City officials say the changes in trash pickup were done to keep the trash rate low for residents in the city of Seguin.
