(Seguin) – Tonight is the night for Seguin ISD elementary school students to shake off any first day of school jitters. Today marks Meet the Teacher events at each of the elementary schools. Students and parents are encouraged to stop by their respective campus between 4 and 6 p.m. School officials say not only can kids visit their classroom, but they can also bring their school supplies so that they don’t have to haul them into school on the first day.
Meet the Teacher and Schedule Pick-Up are also scheduled this week for both middle schools.
A 6th grade Meet the Teacher and Orientation for A. J. Briesemeister Middle School (AJB) will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Schedules for all 7th and 8th grade students will also be available for pick up on Tuesday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
A 6th grade orientation at Barnes Middle School which includes a parent meeting, Meet the Teacher and tour of the building will also be held Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. As for Barnes 7th and 8th graders, students will receive their schedules during first period on the first day of school. Students at Jim Barnes can also access their schedules online. An open house for Barnes won’t be held until Sept. 3.
Over at Seguin High School, students today will have a schedule distribution day rather than a Meet the Teacher. Additionally, schedules will be available through the online portal, TEAMS. However, those wishing to stop by the school today are encouraged to do so at their designated time beginning with the first letter of their last name.
This includes A-D 8:30 to 10 a.m.; E-H, 10 to 11:30 a.m.; I-O 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; P-S 1 to 2:30 p.m. and T-Z from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Those unable to stop by during their designated time will have until 6 p.m. today to obtain their schedule.
Meanwhile, unlike the rest of the district, all Seguin ISD Pre-K Ball students won’t be returning to school until Monday, Aug. 19. Meet the Teacher for Pre-K students at Ball Early Childhood Center are set for either Thursday, Aug. 15 or Friday, Aug. 16. Parents are reminded that teachers are working on scheduling those appointments personally.
District officials ask that Seguin ISD families continue to check their respective school’s Facebook page for changes or additional events being hosted at their campus.
