(Geronimo) — Navarro High School baseball player Colt Brown has announced his college commitment.
On Tuesday, Brown posted to social media that he will continue his academic and athletic career at the University of Louisiana. Brown earned second team all-state honors at catcher on the Class 4A team following the 2024 season. He was a unanimous first teamer on the All-District 28-4A team this past season as a junior.
At the plate, Brown hit .400 with a home run, 29 RBI and 16 runs scored. He had three triples and three doubles and stole 11 bases. The Panthers went 23-8 in 2024, finishing as the runner-up in District 28-4A. Nine of those wins were earned by Brown on the mound against only one loss. In 52 innings pitched, he struck out 65 to lead the Navarro pitching staff. Brown allowed only 30 hits and had a 1.62 ERA. The right-hander also threw a no-hitter against Poth on February 23rd.
The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team is led by head coach Matt Deggs. Louisiana went 42-20 in 2024 and advanced to the regionals in the NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
