SEGUIN, Texas — Texas Lutheran junior Taylor Norrell (Lake Jackson/Brazosport) has been named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 9.
Norrell repeats as an Academic All-District honoree after earning the honors last season. Norrell carries a 3.56 GPA as a Kinesiology major. The Lake Jackson native earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors last month as a member of the 2024 SCAC Champion TLU 4x100m relay team while adding a third place finish in the 100m hurdles at the 2024 SCAC Championships. During the 2024 indoor season, Norrell would break TLU records in the 55m (9.20) and 60m (9.22) hurdles.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Women’s Track & Field / Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
