Now Showing: Movies in the Park: Families invited to free movie tonight at local park

(Seguin) — It’s movie night in Seguin this Friday. The Seguin Parks and Recreation will host another free movie showing on its big screen tonight at a local park.

Jennifer Sourdellia, the city of Seguin’s public information officer, says this year’s Movies in the Park series has been traveling to the different parks throughout the city. She says tonight’s movie moves up north.

“This is a free movie in the park. This time, we are going to be showing a movie in the park at Manuel C. Castilla Park. It starts at 8:45 p.m. This is totally free. All you have to do is bring your blanket, lawn chairs, snacks. We will also have food trucks on site too in case you just want to buy something there. It’s a fun family activity for eveyrone to come out and enjoy and it’s this Friday,” said Sourdellia.

Sourdellia says due to some licensing regulations, she can’t say what the movie will be. But luckily for you we don’t have those restrictions. KWED and the Seguin Daily News went to the Seguin Parks Department’s Facebook page and found tonight’s title for you. The free movie is Disney’s popular animinated feature “Encanto.” It’s a family-friendly musical that includes the smash hit, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

City officials thank HEB for its sponsorship of the 2024 Movies in the Park series. Manuel C. Castilla Park is located at 2261 N. Guadalupe St.
