Joyce Ann Bolen peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 in Lockhart, Texas. She was born on September 13, 1944 to Byron Applewhite and Iva Nettles in Pearsall, Texas.

On June 23, 1976, Joyce married the love of her life, Larry Bolen. Their union was a true testament to love and partnership, with each passing year strengthening their bond. Joyce will always be remembered for the love and light she brought into the lives of those around her. She was a vibrant soul who thrived in chaos, always finding joy in the everyday moments. She never missed an episode of the show, Days of our Lives. Her passion for life was infectious, and her presence lit up any room she entered. Joyce also had a deep affection for all animals but especially held a special place in her heart for her granddog, Max. Her nurturing spirit extended not only to her family but to every creature that crossed her path.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bolen; daughter, Briana Bolen; granddaughter, Angel Bolen; parents, Byron and Iva Applewhite; sister, Florine Bledsoe, and brother, Byron Edward Applewhite.

Joyce is survived by her son, Billy Bolen (Jennifer); daughter, Laurie Heideke (Joel); granddaughter Iva Bolen; granddog, Max; grandchildren, Clayton, Courtney and Connor; great grandchild, Saylor; brother, Billy Applewhite (Lyn) and sisters, Judy Wall (James) and Mary White (Johnny†).

Services honoring Joyce will be held at Goetz Funeral Home in Seguin on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Luling City Cemetery.

Joyce’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her spirit of resilience and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with this remarkable woman.
