(Seguin) — Local farmers and ranchers are not going unnoticed on this National Ag Day.
In fact, it’s the goal of the Guadalupe County Farm Bureau to thank and show appreciation to all those in the industry.
Ray Joy Pfannstiel, president of the local Farm Bureau board of directors, says in celebration, the farm bureau will be treating farmers and ranchers to some lunch today. He says they are invited to stop by at the local Farm Bureau office from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“It’s not directly tied to Farm Bureau but we are in Agriculture so we just decided that maybe we would do something to thank the farmers and ranchers for what they do and what they provide for us and so the thought was we would get some hot dogs together and if you (see) or hear this, come by and pick up a hot dog and I think we will have some chips and cookies and bottle water. So, if they are in the area, we will just show our appreciation for what the farmers and ranchers do for us,” said Pfannstiel.
Pfannstiel says he not only encourages them to take some time out of their busy day to stop by but also invites the community to come out and share its “thank yous.”
“Fortunately, we had some rain the last couple of days and some farmers are out doing some other things running around doing errands, picking up parts that they would normally push off, come out and partake of it or if the average citizen that is in the Seguin area or in Guadalupe County, take that opportunity to stop by and help us thank the farmers and ranchers that provided the food and fiber for Guadalupe County,” said Pfannstiel.
Free hot dogs will be served on a first come, first serve basis. The local Farm Bureau office is located at 325 S. State Highway 46.
