The Seguin, Navarro and Marion softball teams all picked up opening day wins on Tuesday and now they’re off at tournaments today.
(Seguin) — Seguin and Marion won’t be going too far. The Lady Matadors and Lady Bulldogs will begin competition in the Seguin Softball Tournament today at the Fields at Huber Ranch.
The Lady Mats will take on San Antonio Highlands to start the tournament this morning at 11 a.m. Game two for Seguin will take place this afternoon at 5 p.m. against El Paso Austin.
Seguin took down Lockhart, 11-3 at the Huber Ranch on Tuesday night. One week from today, Seguin will be in Kekaha, Hawaii to play in the 38th Annual Waimea High School Varsity Softball Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs first game is also at 11 a.m. this morning. They’ll take on IDEA South Flores Charter School in their first game. Marion’s second game is at 2 O’clock against El Paso. The Lady Bulldogs defeated Harper, 14-9 in Marion on Tuesday.
The Seguin Softball tournament runs through Saturday at Huber Ranch.
(Castroville) — The Navarro Lady Panthers are in Castroville for the Medina Valley tournament.
The Lady Panthers will take on Carrizo Springs in their first game this morning at 10 a.m. Navarro’s second game is against Ulvade at 1 p.m.
The Lady Panthers won their first game in the debut of new head coach Alma Klatt on Tuesday, coming from behind to rally past Incarnate Word High School 11-10 in eight innings. Shelbi Stevens singled home the game-winning run to give Navarro the walk-off victory.
The Medina Valley tournament takes place through Saturday.
