Philip Marcus Streety


Philip Marcus Streety, 70, of Smiley, Texas, gained his eternal wings and found eternal peace on January 10, 2024. Philip was born July 7, 1953 to Joe Edward Streety and Julia Anglin Streety in Nixon, Texas. Philip grew up with his siblings, cousins and friends in Smiley, Texas. He graduated from Smiley High School in 1971 and attended Wharton Junior College. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston in Houston, TX. He then owned a maintenance business in Friendswood, Texas for 10 years.

In 1978, Philip met the love of his life, Jackolyn Block, while visiting his mother at Cuero Hospital. They started their wonderful life together in 1979 and returned to Smiley, Texas, in 1982. He worked for Baker Oil Tool in Yorktown, Texas, and Webber Motor Company in Cuero, Texas, before Bubba Caraway whisked him away to work for him at Caraway Ford as a service manager in Nixon, Texas. In 1993, Philip and Jackie received the greatest gift from God and adopted a beautiful baby girl named Karly, who he was very proud of, and with her adoption, they completed their wonderful little family.

He retired from Caraway Ford in 2018 after 33 years of service. Philip enjoyed farming, ranching and traveling with his family and friends. He spent a lot of time helping the Nixon-Smiley Livestock Board and supported the funding and construction of the new show barn building. He spent many years as a member and volunteer for the Smiley Fire Department.

Philip is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Julia Streety, his sister Linda Carol Bishop, in-laws Frankie and Wilfred Block and brother-in-law Marty Block. He is survived by his loving wife Jackolyn Streety; his daughter Karly Streety; his brother and sister-in-law James and Janie Streety; brother-in-law Earl Bishop; numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
