SEGUIN, JAN 10, 2024 – The Coastal Bend Coaches’ Association (CBCA) proudly announces the posthumous induction of Tim Holt, a respected former Navarro Assistant Football Coach, into the CBCA Hall of Honor. Coach Holt is part of the 2024 class, set to be honored alongside another distinguished coach, Lanny Wilson, during the induction ceremony at the Holiday Inn Downtown Marina on Thursday, January 11, in Corpus Christi, TX.
Tim Holt’s coaching legacy spans over three decades, with multiple head coaching stops in the Coastal Bend, including Falfurrias, George West (twice), Gregory-Portland, Mathis, and finally Navarro High School in Seguin, TX where he helped the Panthers fo 13-1 for the season. Despite his passing in October 2021 while serving as the Assistant Football Coach at Navarro High School, Coach Holt’s impact on the football community and the lives of those he touched through his whole career continues to be celebrated to this day.
Coach Holt had an outstanding career and the profound impact he had both on and off the field was felt by so many. His coaching journey began in 1985, winning a State Championship in Colorado in his first year as a head coach. He later contributed significantly to the success of various programs, including George West, where he led the team to four state quarter-finals in nine years.
Beyond his coaching accolades, Coach Holt’s greatest achievements occurred off the field. He was known for his unwavering commitment to building genuine relationships, fostering love and support among his players. His compassionate and selfless nature extended beyond the game, making a lasting impact on the lives of those he encountered.
Born on February 8, 1959, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Tim Holt’s dedication to coaching was guided by his philosophy of putting God first. He achieved numerous professional milestones, including two-time South Texas Coach of the Year, two state championships, and induction into the Rose State College Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony will be a poignant tribute to Coach Holt’s remarkable career and the lasting legacy he left behind.
