(Seguin) — The Seguin Matadors stayed unbeaten with a come-from-behind 64-61 win over San Antonio Brackenridge at Goldie Harris Gym on Tuesday night.

Down eight points at the half and 10 points early in the third quarter, Seguin went on an 16-5 run in the third to take a lead they would never relinquish. Senior Gavin Molina was instrumental in the run on the defensive and offensive ends. He scored eight of his 13 points on the night in the third quarter. Senior John Jackson dropped in 11 points in both the third and fourth quarters finishing with a game-high 34 points.

The Mats are now 4-0 on the season. Seguin will host the Matador Classic tournament starting on Thursday. The Mats will start pool play against Victoria West on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m.

In other action:

(Blanco) — The Marion Bulldogs blasted the Blanco Panthers up in the Hill Country, 74-33 on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs have won three in a row and are 3-1 on the season. Marion will host their boys basketball tournament starting on Friday.

(Seguin) — The Lifegate Christian boys and girls teams split a double header with with First Baptist Academy with the girls winning and the boys falling at Lifegate Christian School on Tuesday. The Lifegate girls and boys will next play a road double header at Legacy Christian Academy on Friday.

On the girls basketball courts:

(Victoria) — The Seguin Lady Matadors were edged on the road, 43-42 by Victoria West on Tuesday night. Arianna Shular lead the Lady Mats with 16 points. Seguin will play at the Navarro girls tournament starting on Thursday.

(San Marcos) — Speaking of the Lady Panthers, Sarah Falor hit a game-winning three at the buzzer in overtime as Class 4A Navarro dropped 6A San Marcos 55-54 in San Marcos on Tuesday night.

Falor finished with six points. Tegan Harborth lead the Lady Panthers with 21 and Sienna Kramer poured in 15. Navarro is 11-2 on the season. The Lady Panthers will start the Navarro girls invitational tournament on Thursday with a pool matchup against Sinton at Noon.

(Marion) — And the Marion Lady Bulldogs knocked off Pleasanton 35-33 at Marion High School on Tuesday night. The Lady Bulldogs will host the Marion girls basketball tournament starting Thursday in Marion.
