(Seguin) — Things have returned to normal at Seguin High School, but there was some added excitement on the campus today.
School officials say a “hold” safety protocol was initiated at 10:25 this morning, following a fight on campus. The hold was a precautionary measure, which held students and teachers where they were on campus — until the all clear announcement was made. Officers from the Seguin Police Department assisted in resolving the issue, and the hold was lifted about 45 minutes later.
Administrators say there was a second incident, which involved a rumor of a school shooting that was to take place this afternoon. The Seguin Police Department also released a statement this afternoon. They say no weapons were found, but the Seguin Police Department and the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office both had a greater presence on the campus to make sure there was no real threat. Authorities say they will continue to monitor the situation to keep everyone safe.
