Downtown, Big Red Barn events being planned
(Seguin) — Seguin is gearing up to go nuts this weekend. A full schedule is again being planned for this year’s Pecan Fest.
Kyle Kramm, Seguin Main Street and CVB director, says Pecan Fest has become a fun celebration of all things pecan.
“Pecan Fest is just a celebration of all things pecan — our famous nut — as well as the heritage and the cultures that have founded Seguin over the past two centuries. It’s a lot of history, fun nutty activities. It also pays our respect to those cultures and Ag cultural heritage that was so important for Seguin’s founding,” said Kramm.
Kicking things off bright and early will be the Nuts About Education 5K which supports the Seguin Education Foundation. The 5K starts at Pecantown Books & Brews and will go through Starcke Park at its recently completed Walnut Springs Trail. Registration begins at 7 a.m.
Among the events is Trade Days. Over 100 vendors will be setting up shop around Central Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p .m. Saturday.
