Floats take top honors in this year’s Guadalupe County Fair Parade

(Seguin) – Although the gates of the 140th Guadalupe County Fair and PRCA Rodeo have officially closed, the bragging rights earned at this year’s fair parade have only begun.  The top winners in this year’s parade have been announced. The parade was held Friday morning in downtown Seguin.

Winning this year’s grand prize trophy for Best Overall Entry was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Seguin Matador Theatre group, which featured its upcoming Sponge Bob Musical also earned top honors by walking away with this year’s Grand Prize.

Other winners include Guadalupe County Jeepers, Best Individual or Club; Thomas Jefferson Lasso, Most Patriotic; Guadalupe County Fair Queen, Festival Float, Best Festival Float; Texas Farm Bureau, Best Commercial Float; the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Ambassador Committee; Best Out of Town Float; Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office SWAT vehicle; Best Heavy Equipment; The Country Church Buckaroos, Best Animal entry and Lifegate Christian School; Best Local Entry.

Over 50 plus entries participated in this year’s parade. The parade is an annual tradition of the county fair. This year’s fair was held Oct. 12-15.
