(Schertz) — Seguin ISD Superintendent Matthew Gutierrez isn’t the only top administrator leaving a school district here in Guadalupe County.
Dr. Clark Ealy, the superintendent of schools in the Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City school district said over the weekend that he was stepping down after four years of service to the district. He says he plans to retire, ending 32 years in public education.
Dr. Ealy says he’s proud of his time in the SCUCISD. He says that they have accomplished a great deal over the last four years. He says the district emerged from the difficulty of a pandemic to make lasting changes that will benefit their students and community for years to come. He says the SCUCISD staff and leadership are truly outstanding, and he will miss working with them on a daily basis.
SCUCISD School Board President Gerald Perkins praised the superintendent for his ability to build a strong culture of success for all students by focusing on the growth of each SCUC student.
Dr. Ealy’s last day in the district will be January 31, 2024.
