(Hondo) — The Navarro Lady Panthers took home the championship at the Hondo tournament over the weekend winning all six of their matches.
The Lady Panthers cruised to a straight set 25-7, 25-5 victory over San Antonio Burbank on Saturday at the tournament to bring home the title. Taylor Helms, Morgan Helms and Kate Wozniak were all selected to the All-Tournament team for Navarro.
Navarro is 8-1 on the young season. The UIL Class 4A Lady Panthers will move up a couple of classes in competition on Tuesday as they travel to face Class 6A Schertz Clemens. That match starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

(Pearland) — After falling in matches on Thursday and Friday, the Seguin Lady Matadors earned a couple of wins in the John Turner Classic tournament in Pearland on Saturday.
The Lady Mats beat Porter in straight sets, 25-16, 25-8. Zoe Seldon lead Seguin with nine kills in the match while Keighly Dailey added five kills.
In their second match, the Lady Mats took down Clear Brook also in straight sets, 25-13, 25-20. Lizzie Suarez and Seldon each had seven kills in the victory.
Seguin will be on the road on Tuesday to take on Cibilo Steele. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
(Wimberley) – And the Marion Lady Bulldog volleyball team dropped their last match in play at the Tex-fest tournament in Wimberley on Saturday, falling to Needville in straight sets.
The Lady Bulldogs will host Uvalde on Tuesday evening for their 2023 season home opener at Marion High School. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
