Felipa Montoya, 84, of Seguin, Texas, passed away on August 7, 2023.
She is preceded in death by her husband Juan Antonio Montoya; parents Victoriano & Dolores Hernandez; sisters Guadalupe Hernandez, Victoria Machuca and Petra Gonzales; brothers Fidencio Hernandez Sr. and Magdaleno Hernandez.
Left to cherish and honor her memory are her seven children: Mary Espinoza (Anthony); Hector H. Montoya; Javier H. Montoya (Mary); Juan H. Montoya; Carlos H. Montoya; Rebecca Montoya; and Diana Medrano (Mario); grandchildren Ashley Marroquin (Oscar); Michael Espinoza (Christine), Alexis Montoya, Addason Montoya, Elena Medrano, Amada Medrano, Joaquin Montoya, Julian Montoya, and Jonah Montoya along with five great grandchildren.
She is survived by her sister Maria Rodriguez (David); brothers Gumecindo Hernandez (Janie) and Juan Hernandez.
Felipa will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend. She loved art, poetry, singing and dancing. She was always smiling. She was an avid reader and cook. Felipa was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a prayer warrior for all. She started the devotion of the Divine Mercy for her parish in the 1990s. She attended daily mass with her husband. She will be deeply missed by all.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Goetz Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Address: 713 N Austin Street, Seguin, TX 78155.
Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Address: 409 W. Krezdorn Street, Seguin, TX 78155.
Burial will follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
