(New Braunfels) — The Guadalupe County Fire Marshal’s Office is continuing its investigation into a structure fire that claimed the life of a male resident.
Fire crews just before 2 a.m. Monday responded to the 300 block of Skytrail Drive, for a structure fire. During suppression efforts, fire crews learned that one male occupant of the residence was unaccounted for. Unfortunately, the victim was later found in the garage of the home.
While official identification and cause of death are pending an autopsy by the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, the victim is believed to be the 54-year-old homeowner.
Following an assessment of the scene and collecting witness statements, the Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating the fire’s origin and cause.
