Seguin hiring event scheduled today at Seguin Coliseum
(Seguin) – Landing a new job this summer might just be in the cards for you.
A job fair exclusively featuring Seguin employers will be held today at the Seguin Coliseum.
The Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is partnering with Workforce Solutions Alamo to host the Seguin Summer Job Fair today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Josh Schneuker, the executive director of the Seguin Economic Development, says today’s job fair promises to be a prime opportunity for job seekers to connect with approximately 25 prominent employers all from the Seguin area.
“It is a little bit different than some of our previous job fairs that we’ve had as we have previously partnered with some of our communities within the Northeast San Antonio Metro Area. So, we are really excited to continue to help them find the labor that they need in order to meet the demands that they have and bring this job fair a little bit closer to our community at the Seguin Coliseum,” said Schneuker.
Schneuker says each participating employer brings a high level of competitiveness to the table.
“They are very competitive in terms of pay. I think the thing is a lot of these companies are willing to bring folks on that have the work ethic, that show up to work on time, are willing to put in the hours and in return, the company is going to make the investment in the employee whether that obviously be big pay or advancing that person’s career through additional training opportunities but I think this is a great opportunity for our local area and our local residents to find those high demand, high wage jobs that are right in our own backyard,” said Schneuker.
This job fair brings together a diverse array of local employers offering immediate openings in an extensive range of job skills, representing exciting opportunities for job seekers in the area.
“Just come out and see what is out there. There’s a ton of opportunity. It’s not all in manufacturing. We have a diversified group of employers that are going to be in attendance. So, I think there is a little bit for everybody so just come with an open mind and I think that confidence as well. There is something out there for you and there is definitely a job available for you here in Seguin,” said Schneuker.
Participating companies include Angel Pest Control Inc., Community Council of South-Central Texas Workforce “Yes!” Program, United Alloy, CMC Steel TX, EPMP, Cavco Homes, Tyson Foods, Inc., Guadalupe Regional Medical Center, Republic Plastics, Guadalupe County Adult Detention Center, Master’s Electrical Services, Caterpillar, Navarro ISD, Valdez Barbershop, Seguin Housing Authority, Minigrip, Seguin ISD, EPMP LTD, Minigrip LLC, Alamo Group Texas PSSI, Vitesco Technologies, Hexcel Corporation plus more.
Schneuker says he hopes partnering with Workforce Solutions Alamo for this in-person job fair will help them to match job seekers with Seguin employers who have open positions ready to fill. He says aspiring job seekers are also encouraged to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resumes to make the most of their interactions with potential employers at today’s job fair.
