STAAR test results available for local families

Seguin, TX, USA / Seguin Today

(Seguin) — Today is the first day that parents can get to check out their students scores on the STAAR Test. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) will be making Spring 2019 STAAR performance data available to parents/legal guardians.

Sean Hoffmann, the executive director of communications for the Seguin ISD, says parents should have already received a letter explaining their ability to access their child’s performance online and encourages them to retrieve that performance by the end of this Friday.

“It’s an opportunity for parents to become more involved in their child’s education, take a vested interest into it and learn to see what your child has accomplished during this past school year in Seguin ISD schools and this goes above the Seguin ISD. It’s a statewide initiative and really just an opportunity for parents to check their child’s progress, see how some of the questions were answered by the child during the STAAR examination and it also provides information on how parents and families can provide additional support at home for their child. So, it’s a great tool. It’s a benefit to parents,” said Hoffmann.

Again, the TEA has created a unique access code to view STAAR performance data.

The access code is available at http://texasassessment.gov/. At this site, parents will click on the link “Find My Access Code” located at the bottom of the purple login box. After entering their child’s first name, date of birth and social security or “S” number, they will be provided an access code to log into the portal.

Additionally, the access code will be available through the Parent Self Serve (PSS) found on the Seguin ISD web site at https://teams.seguin.k12.tx.us.

A paper copy of each student’s STAAR report card will also be available for pickup at the student’s campus from now through Friday.
